I don’t know about you but the Noom ads had me really curious!
For a long time I just wanted to know what is Noom?
I’m a mom and a wife, and I’m far from being a Millennial. I’m a member of Generation X juggling all the responsibilities of work and life.
But I kept seeing the ads.
I kept wondering if Noom could work for me as a mom and a wife.
I kept googling Noom Reviews 2019.
And then, I finally decided to go for it.
I tried the Noom Diet Plan trial (**FREE **) and stayed on the program after that. I not only lost weight I also conquered lifelong bad habits.
So What Is Noom?
Noom is a different kind of diet plan. Noom uses daily lessons in the app with a personal coach to help you change your habits surrounding food.

Noom Recipe Tips and Tricks
Like I mentioned it took making small changes each week but I found my Noom food groove and you will too!
To start the week well I like to roast a chicken (or 2 because its so easy!) for Sunday night dinner with a tray of oven roasted veggies and sweet potatoes. The leftovers make great lunches on top of salad or in a sandwich.
Yes, I said sandwich. I eat bread on Noom!
How about Taco Tuesday? I eat mine over a sweet potato with a salad on the side. You could also make a taco bowl over rice and add extra lettuce and tomatoes.
Spaghetti Friday? Brown rice turns out to be a great substitute for pasta if your family is like mine and won’t try whole grain pasta. To make it really easy I use frozen microwave brown rice from the frozen veggie section at my grocery store.
Maybe pork tenderloin is BOGO at your grocery store this week? We love to make this Noom friendly food in the air fryer.
Let’s talk about chicken again real quick. Yes, the first few weeks you will likely eat a lot of chicken. But you will have a “why” so it won’t be as bad.

How much does Noom Cost?
Let’s talk about the elephant in the room. (You’ll find Noom loves to talk about elephants!)
Noom isn’t free. And yes, there are free calorie counting apps out there.
But you are old enough to know that when you pay for something you are more likely to take it seriously. There is even research to prove it.
And let’s be honest, if the free calorie counting app is working for you then you wouldn’t be considering Noom. I know this because I’ve been there too.
I stuck with Noom after signing up for the trial period (**FREE**) because I decided it was time to invest in myself.
If you are anything like me you spend money on your family’s needs and wants but not your own. I finally made the decision that it was time prioritize me. I continued the Noom program for an additional two months after the trial and I’m so glad I did!
Continuing with Noom cost me less money than I would have spent on new jeans in a larger size.
Changing Habits Isn’t Easy
I’m a stress eater and a fog eater. And let me tell you publicly admitting that is difficult.
For the first time ever, thanks to Noom, I finally have the tools to recognize when I’m fog eating AND to stop myself. For me that makes the program worth every penny.
I’m guessing that besides wanting to know how much Noom cost you want to know how much weight I lost on it. I wanted to know that when I read Noom diet plan reviews too!
But I’m not going to tell you how much weight I lost. Admitting I’m a fog eater is embarrassing enough!
I did lose weight and keep it off. It took me a little longer then Noom predicted but I also fought the process. Changing bad habits is hard work.
It turned out fighting the process was one of the habits I needed to overcome before the weight really started dropping off. I credit my Noom Coach with helping me identify that.
Another thing I found very helpful to change my habits was the book Atomic Habits by James Clear.
I didn’t want to like this book and some of his ideas were a little crazy to me. But I ended up loving this book and implemented two of his teachings that made a HUGE difference.
I made a deal with myself to not skip using the Noom app two days in a row and I changes some key things about my environment i.e.: my kitchen. Both tips I picked up from James Clear.
By concisely not skipping using the Noom app I got into the habit of using it faster than I would have otherwise.
I have a tendency to ignore new technology tools and struggle with embracing new processes so for me that was a big win.
I also cleaned off our kitchen counters. I replaced the clear containers of goldfish and crackers with a fruit bowl filled with small apples and oranges. It’s a lot less appealing to fog eat an apple or peal a little orange then it is to grab a handful of goldfish!
Noom vs Weight Watchers
I get asked this question pretty often, what’s the difference between Weight Watchers (WW) and Noom?
And honestly this is a really easy to answer. The WW Freestyle program lets you eat unlimited amounts of a large number of foods.
I consumed way too many calories on the WW Freestyle program. Instead of learning new better habits about food I learned how to eat a lot of food and not count it.
Noom is calorie based at its core and every chicken breast will count. But the good news is they are going to help you to stop even reaching for that extra serving of chicken.
